For over twenty years Eva Karpati has been a recognised and respected name in skincare. Working through her Karpati Clinique in Sydney’s Double Bay, she has continued to develop her specialist understanding of the skin and its conditions.
What’s your beauty background?
Since opening my skincare clinic when I arrived in Australia from Hungary, I’ve used my knowledge of the European traditions of skin and bodycare to develop my skincare practice and range of products. As well as the clinic, I’ve developed a complete range of petro-chemical-free professional Natural Hair Care products and I’m in the final stages of developing Bio Intelligent – my own professional skincare range, which is also petro-chemical-free. I’ve also created DITO, a unique range of toluene, formaldehyde and dibutyl phthalate-free nail polish and nail treatment products, which have a unique and ergonomically designed bottle.
Tell us about the Natural Hair Care range.
My new petro-chemical-free Natural Hair Care range offers salon-quality results without harsh chemical additives. By combining natural ingredients with cutting-edge innovation, I have created a range of products that are safe, effective, affordable and Australian-owned. Each product in the new haircare range has not been tested on animals and contains only natural, nourishing ingredients, which aid in promoting healthy, strong and manageable hair.
What is your favourite product in the range?
Definitely Night Shock from the Natural Hair Care range. There are so few overnight haircare treatments available on the market, but this one actually repairs hair while you sleep – so easy!
And what’s the latest in nailcare?
With the Karpati nail lacquer range, you can stay away from the most harmful chemicals. There is no toluene, dibutyl phthalate or formaldehyde in our formulation, which means our nail polishes are super-kind to your nails and the environment, with the added convenience of quick drying finish so you can paint and re-paint your nails as often as you like.
Tell us about the unique bottle design.
The Karpati DITO nail lacquers come in a clever bottle that’s made of plastic and has a finger-gripping handle at the base, so the bottle rests effortlessly in between your fingers like a ring as you paint. This ultra-modern design is so unique, it’s been included in the Design Collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
What colours are going to big this summer?
Soft shades of nude and golden beige are wonderful for bringing out a tanned skin Think Lily Crown and Allure from the Karpati DITO range.
Who are your favourite clients?
Every client that steps into Karpati Clinique is treated like a VIP. We do however look after many famous people who need their skin to look its best, such as Catriona Rowntree and Megan Gale.
